Abstract Collage Series

This body of work explores transformation through an intuitive process of deconstruction and reassembly. Each piece begins without a fixed plan—guided instead by gesture, material response, and emotional impulse.

Painted surfaces form the initial layer: abstract compositions that already hold their own visual language. These are then disrupted—torn apart, fragmented, and reorganized into new constellations. The act of breaking becomes a necessary step toward becoming.

Fragments are reassembled into layered collages, where traces of the original composition remain visible yet altered. What was once whole is no longer recoverable, but persists in a shifted state—recontextualized, reinterpreted.

Across the series, different color worlds emerge: from bold, high-contrast tensions to soft, muted, almost powder-like atmospheres. Despite these variations, black ink is a constant element in every work—serving as an anchor, a mark of resistance, and a connective thread throughout the series.

The surfaces are tactile and irregular, shaped by layering, tearing, and repainting. A final lacquer seals each piece, creating a subtle tension between raw materiality and a controlled, almost distant finish.

“Breaking / Becoming” reflects on instability as a productive state—where destruction is not an end, but a condition for transformation.
